Fedora Classroom: KDE4 for KDE3 users
Clint tickled a memory... Oh yeah!  I (and Kevin Kofler, and any other fedora kde-sig'er who can spontaneously show) will hold a "KDE4 for KDE3 Users" irc classroom session this Saturday, 14:45 UTC.  Be there or be square.

That's just a tentative title for the session, we'll likely be open to discuss all things KDE4. Topics off the top of my head right now will include:

  • KDE4 for KDE3 users: Help answer anything of the form:  "In KDE3, I used to do XXX, how does KDE4 do XXX?"
  • An overview of KDE pillars: phonon, plasma, oxygen, solid, etc...
  • The future of KDE4.  The future's so bright, gotta wear shades
  • Are the cubs finally gonna make the world series?
  • I want ponies, where are the ponies?
Want a another specific topic or issue addressed? Please drop a comment here, and we'll do our best to cover it.

Hey,

I don't know if it's related, but maybe you can start a thread in the KDE forum too? http://forum.kde.org/klassroom-f-71.html

Can you have a "KDE 4 for Gnome Converts" session? Not meaning to start a flame war, but really, I don't even know why I'd want to use KDE 4 (on Fedora?).

Yes I would also like to see something like this. An introduction to KDE 4 for those of us still using gnome. I've been checking out KDE 4.2 beta screenshots and reviews recently and it looks very cool, and there also seem to be more advanced features than in gnome. It's very tempting to switch to kde but I'm a bit afraid I would get lost without some guidance.

Hi,
i'd like to know how can i place an link to app in desktop(or into menu). Sorry i don't want to use KDE4 only for fun (as many others do). I'd like to work with it! KDE3.5 was (on my F7 still is) the best solution. I'm totaly confused how to use ALL of new feat. in KDE (how to download new desktop, screensaver, why is System Setting so crazy [ok i knew it as MAC style] - too much "clicking" around). There is few bugs with panels too(this is for bugtrackers shouldn't be placed here).

...and so finaly i'm upset when i have to work with KDE4.. i'm maybe alone...maybe not...
